Public-service interpreting

I have worked as a public-service interpreter (with working languages English, French and German) for the authorities of the canton of Zurich since April 2005 and am a registered interpreter at the Higher Court of the canton of Zurich (Obergericht des Kantons Zürich).

Public-service interpreters ensure that the statements of foreign-language speakers are translated for the criminal prosecution authorities, in civil proceedings and in court.

If the parties to the proceedings do not speak the official language, national and international rules (pdf) of law require that the authorities call in an interpreter.
